Forest Medicine Retreat
October 18-20, 2019
Enjoy guided hikes and twice-daily yoga classes featuring the same in-depth, authentic yogic knowledge you've come to expect. Mindfulness activities help you reconnect with the vibrant forest environment as well as to your intuition. Nightly bonfires and seasonal activities will bring you into harmony with the rhythms of Autumn in the Pacific Northwest. Walk an old-growth trail, relax in deep meditation, and cozy up with a hot cup of chai.
Just 3 hours from Seattle, North Cascades Institute rests on the shores of Diablo Lake in the heart of one of Washington's most breathtaking mountain ranges. Surrounded by soaring peaks, old-growth forests, and magnificent waterfalls, you can explore cascading streams, colorful meadows, and the richness of this Northwest ecosystem.
North Cascades Institute’s mission is simple: to inspire and empower environmental stewardship for all through transformative educational experiences in nature. Since 1986, they have helped connect people, nature, and community through the hands-on study of the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest.
Each meal features local and organic ingredients and showcases the fresh and flavorful abundance of the Skagit River Valley. Meals are served buffet-style in Salmonberry Dining Hall, overlooking Diablo Lake. The dining hall features a fireplace and outdoor deck, with soaring windows where you can watch the sunset over the mountains and reflect on your day’s adventures.
Unwind at the end of the day in the beautiful new Cedar Lodge, including a cozy lounge area with sofas, games, a fireplace, and a limited kitchenette. Perfect for relaxing or late night conversations. Sleek and modern in design, featuring guest rooms with private, double, triple, and quad occupancy rooms and shared bathrooms. This European-style community house is far from the log cabin hunting lodges of the past. The sustainable warm wooden construction and high ceilings provide warmth and light to your weekend home in the forest. Choose your roommate, or meet new friends!
